Research and Planning- Music Equalizer
I think at certain points in the video there are a lot of instrumental parts and it could look good if we have a music equalizer on screen, whether its the main thing or in the background
at some point.
Research and Planning-Rocky Horror Lips
At the start of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, a song starts and all you can see on the screen is a close up of a pair of lips singing. It looks really good because its the only thing on screen at the time and it makes you focus on what they're saying. I think this could be a good idea to incorporate into out video because we have lyrics for about 24 seconds at the start of the song, but without a strong beat or loud music as well. This would make the audience focus on the lyrics and it emphasises feminity because it is a female artist singing.

Research and Planning- Call of the Wild Lyrics
Want you, need you
It's the call of the wild
Something animal, more than physical
Satisfy me cos I'm falling apart
Synchronicity in our chemistry
I'm a woman
Not a siren calling
It's only natural
For me to want your loving
When you gonna look me up
Don't say never ever
Just need you to hook me up
I don't need forever
When you gonna put me up
Don't say never ever
Just need you to fix me up
I don't need forever
Want you, need you
It's the call of the wild
Something animal, more than physical
Satisfy me cos I'm falling apart
Synchronicity in our chemistry
I'm a woman
Not a siren calling
It's only natural
For me to want your loving
When you gonna look me up
Don't say never ever
Just need you to hook me up
I don't need forever
When you gonna put me up
Don't say never ever
Just need you to fix me up
I don't need forever
Call, call, call, call of the wild, wild
Call, call, call, call make you mine, mine
Tick, tock, ten to one
Tick, tock, ten to one
Tick, tock, ten to one
It's a little of the night but I've just begun
Tick tock, ten to two
And I'm getting kind of hungry so I'm after you
Tick tock, ten to three
And I've gotta funny feeling coming over me
Tick tock, ten to four
It's the call of the wild and I'm calling for more
Call, call, call, call of the wild, wild
Call, call, call, call make you mine, mine
Call, call, call, call of the wild, wild
Call, call, call, call make you mine, mine

Florrie's Music Style
In an interview with Ponystep, Florrie described her style as 'a big mixture; kind of a sixties, organic feel merged with modern pop beats and electronics.' Currently Florrie is unsigned and gives much of her music away to fans for free to download, play, share, post.

Song Issues
Due to 'Bedroom Eyes' already having a video on YouTube, its been decided that it would be better for us to choose another song so that our music video isnt compared to the original and given high expectations to how it would turn out.
Reggae Music Research
Reggae is a music genre first developed in Jamaica in the late 1960s. While sometimes used in a broader sense to refer to most types of Jamaican music, the term reggae more properly denotes a particular music style that originated following on the development of ska and rocksteady.
Stylistically, reggae incorporates some of the musical elements of rhythm and blues (R&B), jazz, African and Latin American music, as well as other genres. Reggae is either played in 4/4 time or swing time, because the symmetrical rhythmic pattern does not lend itself to other time signatures such as 3/4 time. One of the most easily recognizable elements is offbeat rhythms; staccato chords played by a guitar or piano (or both) on the offbeats of the measure, often referred to as the skank.
A standard drum kit is generally used in reggae, but the snare drum is often tuned very high to give it a timbales-type sound. Some reggae drummers use an additional timbale or high-tuned snare to get this sound. Cross-stick technique on the snare drum is commonly used, and tom-tom drums are often incorporated into the drumbeat itself.
The concept of "call and response" can be found throughout reggae music, in the lyrics but also in the way parts are composed and arranged for each instrument. The emphasis on the "third beat" of the bar (depending on how it's counted) also results in a different sense of musical phrasing with bass lines and melody lines often emphasizing what might be considered "pick up notes" in other genres.

Potential Artist-Natty
We've looked into songs on YouTube and we came across an artist called Natty. The song we liked was called 'Bedroom Eyes', and is a reggae sounding song. Natty is a songwriter, singer and musician from Finsbury Park, North London. He decided to put a 4 piece band together and began playing at open mic nights before launching his own eclecticclub night Vibes And Pressure. His gigs attracted the attention of Atlantic Records. Some of his songs include;
Badman
Cold Town

Coloured Souls

How artists are branded/marketed
Social media tools are becoming one of the most popular ways artists choose to communicate with their fans and community. Out of the many social media networks, MySpace is most known as the music social network. People can search for new artists online and go through their playlists and music demos. They can tweet about what they're doing or any upcoming gigs so more people can attend them and start supporting them.
